Haygrove Yunnan

Year founded: 2017
Fruit grown: Blueberries
No. of staff: 250

Haygrove Yunnan is our latest venture. The farm is situated in the remote Xishuangbanna region, the home of the Dai ethnic minority in Yunnan province in South-West China. We farm in an area of almost undiscovered natural beauty which is more familiar to backpackers than berry-growers; we often work to a soundtrack of fireworks as a celebration of some description goes on in the valley.
Berry consumption is on the rise dramatically in China, so we decided to break ground in 2017 with a plan to supply Chinese consumers with blueberries, raspberries and blackberries from our brand new 20-hectare farm. We are working hand-in-hand with our next-door neighbours, Costa and Driscoll’s, to ensure we all develop world-class farms to provide Chinese berry lovers with the best possible fruit.
Our operations are split between a head office in Kunming and the farm which is a three-hour journey from the city. A diverse international team is leading the way as we prepare this new branch of the Haygrove family.
