- For fleece: The Hiwer machine picks up floating row-cover directly from the field using only a single tractor operator. Fleece is gently lifted using a front catcher to minimize friction to prevent harm to crops and row-cover. In wet and windy weather the Hiwer machine remains easy to use without the operator feeling that they may lose control of the material. Each reel will store up to 1 ha (2.5 acres) of row-cover material.
- For polythene: Through a quick switch from the front fleece catcher to a side polythene catcher, the Hiwer has also been designed for safely rolling tunnel polythene. Using a higher spec 375cc hydraulic oil motor, the machine will roll up to 350m (1200 feet) of polythene onto one single reel.
- For rope, drip tape and other materials: The machine is easily adapted for winding rope and drip tape. Additionally, for certain light soil types it might also be possible to wind plastic bed mulch
