Haygrove Heaven is the name of our farm in South Africa. In 2002 we planted one ha of soft fruit and in 2004 commercial exports began to Europe. The farms are situated in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, near Hermanus and further up the Garden Route just outside the town of George.
As well as the production of raspberries and strawberries for the European and home market, Haygrove Heaven is also very involved in the propagation and planting of the indigenous Fynbos species. Areas on the farms that are not suitable for cropping are planted and this is part of a larger project of the beautification of the farm. Haygrove Heaven is also the locality of our Bright Futures programme that began in 2007 and is in partnership with the Shell Foundation and Marks & Spencer.
The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus is the gateway to a circular route through the imposing Overberg Mountains. With a name meaning 'heaven and earth', the valley inspires lofty sentiments with its stunning scenery. Located at the lower reaches of the Onrus River, the valley is blessed with bounteous vineyards, heavy fruit orchards and velvety fynbos hillsides.
