In 1999 Nick and Kathy Evans sold their home to buy a 6 acre field and a glasshouse. Angus Davison of Haygrove Ltd offered financial support, mentorship and the opportunity to work with Haygrove Development. A partnership was formed.
The farm annually pick and pack more than 300 tons of soft fruit from greenhouses and polytunnels on the South Coast of England. Almost all of it is sold through Berry gardens to the UK’s premier supermarkets. We seasonally employ and accommodate more than 100 staff from all over the world. We occupy 7 production sites in our village and specialise in raspberries and strawberries.
Sidlesham lies south of Chichester on the eastern side of the Manhood Peninsula in West Sussex. The whole parish is notable for the wide, very flat, low-lying land. It has a significant coastal fringe, with extensive farmland. There are some excellent views to Chichester Cathedral and the South Downs to the north, and to the Solent and the Isle of Wight to the southwest. It has a high level of sunshine, and relatively low rainfall and is a wonderful place for growing berries.
