After studying Horticulture and Agriculture economics at Stellenbosch University, Mark spent 3 years travelling through the USA, Australia and England. Work during these years included farming with cherries in Michigan, citrus in Florida, winemaking in California, beekeeping in Hawaii, apples in Victoria, vegetables in Queensland and operating a combine harvester in the UK.
These travels eventually led Mark to manage a strawberry farm for 4 years in Herefordshire, UK. The farm had 20 hectares covered with Haygrove tunnels. After moving back to South Africa in 2002 Haygrove South Africa was born. In the early days, Mark was responsible for all Haygrove activities including managing stock, hoop bending loading of trucks, tunnel construction, sales and sales support.
Mark enjoys mountain biking and wildlife photography.
Drieka Wilson is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a HDip Banking and has over 25 years of commercial experience in the South African economy.
Her career in Banking and Finance exposed her to multiple sectors and she gathered knowledge of multiple jurisdictions all over the world.
Her career started with completing articles with PWC and she moved onto working for both local and international Investment Banks. Roles included Transactor, Advisory and ultimately as CFO serving on Boards and Executive Committees.
Drieka relocated to the Western Cape from Gauteng three years ago and joined Haygrove South Africa in April of 2018 as the Finance Business Partner.
With her vast and extended commercial experience, Drieka is assisting Haygrove South Africa to successfully grow the business and excel it to the next level.
Yule heads up our Project Management Division. (What a nice guy!)
Having spent the last 20 years in the commercial and residential sectors Yule decided to combine his two passions of agriculture and construction and joined our team. He currently manages our onsite team of site managers and construction crew whom facilitate the project management and building of our Haygrove agricultural structures.
Yule's team is dedicated to ensuring that our growers receive the best possible Haygrove experience within their timeframes and budgets.
Henry Martinson is Head of Operations at Haygrove, focusing on all aspects throughout the value chain. Custom and tailor-made fabrication, procurement of quality stock, ensuring timeous and efficient logistic and ultimately the delivery to the growers within tight timeframes. His background as a Mechanical Engineer provides him with detailed insight to produce a high-quality product whilst still being cost-effective.
Christine has a background in HR, legal compliancy and policy implementation. She has a Masters degree in Industrial Relations and has received exposure in a variety of different industries.
She has been brought on board to assist Haygrove Tunnels to be compliant with all aspects of labour law and to implement company policies. Christine provides solutions to Haygrove's HR needs and acts as a support system for all the staff.
